What is an Artificial General Engineer?

Last updated 13 September 2026

An Artificial General Engineer is not a single model. It is an engineering system that turns objectives and constraints into versioned artifacts, uses real engineering tools, verifies measurable properties, preserves product state and evidence, and keeps manufacturing, physical testing and certification as explicit gates.

What makes it engineering

01

Objective

A mission begins with a goal, constraints and acceptance criteria.

02

Disciplines

One governed lifecycle must connect the engineering domains required by the product.

03

Tools

Real engineering tools create and measure artifacts; conversation alone is not execution.

04

Evidence

Requirements, decisions, artifacts, checks and open items remain linked and reviewable.

05

Physical gates

Manufacturing, physical testing and certification remain explicit real-world stages.

What it is not

  • Not a frontier model presented as a complete engineer.
  • Not a collection of prompts or disconnected agents.
  • Not a system allowed to declare its own work correct.
  • Not a claim that 1UA-AGE has already achieved general engineering competence.

Replaceable AI capabilities. One governed engineering lifecycle. Evidence before release.
